We get a lot of questions from people who want to come and train jiu-jitsu in Rio de Janeiro.
It’s natural that people want to ask about everything before they get here. And we’re always happy to answer every question.
One frequent question we receive is people asking what gyms they can train at.
The answer to that question is simple: If you stay at Connection Rio you are free to train at whichever BJJ gym in Rio you like!
Wherever you’re from and wherever you want to train, COnnection Rio can help you out. That’s because we’ve got excellent links to all major academies across the city, including many smaller ones you’ve probably never heard of!
You see, unlike many BJJ camps or travel packages aimed at jiu-jitsu Connection Rio is not solely linked to just one academy.
Instead of being tied into training at just one gym, you are free to choose where you spend your time on the mat.
Many of our guests choose to train at one of the nearby gyms such as Gordo’s, Gracie Barra, or American Top Team. All of these gyms are only 60 seconds walk from our houses.
Of course, some people want to train at multiple gyms, or they’ve got links to a team from back home. So some people just hop on a bus and take the short journey to some of the other gyms in the city.
Connection Rio is situated only minutes away from one of the major travel hubs in Rio de Janeiro, making it incredibly easy to travel to other academies. You only need to take one bus and you’re at any number of gyms, such as Brazilian Top Team, Alliance, X-Gym, De la Riva, Terere’s gym, Carlson Gracie, Checkmat, and many many others.
If you stay at Connection Rio we will help arrange training at any academy of your choice. Just ask – that’s what we’re here for!
