Q -Does traveling to Brazil require a visa?
A – If you are not a Brazilian citizen with a national passport, check with the Brazilian Consulate to find out what the requirements are in your country. Here is a list of visa exempt countries.
Q -How long can I “legally” stay in Brazil?
A – Generally a tourist visa will allow a foreigner 90 days entry. This 90day entry can be extended to 180 days with the Federal Police at GIG airport here in Rio de Janeiro.
Q -How do I get from the airport to the Connection Rio HQ?
A – For airport pickup be sure to send your exact itinerary, BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE.
Q -Will I be able to use my ATM card in bank machines and stores/restaurants in Rio?
A – The majority of banks accept foreign cards, as do the stores and restaurants.
Q -How much money will I need?
A – That’s not something we can answer. We can give you an idea of how much things cost, and we recommend reading this post.
Q -What is the voltage in Rio?
A – Power here is 110 in standard outlets and 220 for some appliances (there are some cities in Brazil that use all 220).
Q -Will I need a power adapter?
A – It is always good to come prepared; yes, bring one!
Q -Is training included with standard room rates?
A – Training is not included with standard room rates; however Connection Rio will be happy to put together a complete package for you.
Q -Is food included with room rates?
A – No, food is not included with room rates. There are self-catering facilities available in all Connection Rio locations.
Q -What are the amenities at the Connection Rio HQ?
A – The Connection Rio HQ includes: High Speed Wifi, a pool, two kitchens, a washing machine and outdoor BBQ. The Premier house has a drier, large kitchen, small pool and outdoor BBQ.
Q -What other activities are available?
A – The most common activities requested by guests are kite surfing; surfing; and hang gliding, all which we can help arrange. If you want to do something else, just ask.
Q -Is it possible to visit academies in other parts of the city?
A – Yes, let us know where you would like to train and we will arrange it for you.
