Enjoying the BJJ lifestyle in Rio de Janeiro encompasses much more than just spending time on the mat! One of the best parts about life in Brazil is that you get to meet and hang out with new friends from around the world, as in the case of the Connection Rio end-of-year BBQ.Generously supported by Koral Fight Wear, the end of year event was a chance for all Connection Rio guests to relax together in a friendly setting while meeting a number of figures from the local BJJ community.
As the music played and everybody enjoyed the weather, the food and the company, conversation passed from experiences in Rio to exchanging ideas about training and even a little business networking!
One of the best things about Connection Rio is that you get to meet people from all over the world, and there were guests from as far afield as Australia, Finland, North America and even Kazakhstan! The grapplers at the house included every belt colour from white to black, with representatives of teams such as Gracie Barra, Alliance, Ribeiro Association and more.
Connection Rio also offered guests the chance to win one of a number of prizes thanks to the help of Koral, with guests entered into a raffle. The winners received items including new kimonos, t-shirts and fight shorts.
People often want to know what to expect from COnnection Rio. Is it just a place to train? Is it a package holiday?
The answer is it is what you want it to be – the freedom and flexibility of the Connection Rio experience means you choose your own adventure, but one thing is for sure… You’ll definitely go home with great memories of BJJ in Rio de Janeiro!
