Who comes to stay at Connection Rio? The answer is “everyone”. From full-time professional athletes to average Joes, we accommodate people of all levels… But is it for you?
Connection Rio: BJJ Lifestyle for Everyone
Here at Connection Rio we host people from all over the world, and of all levels.
From world class black belts such as Jose Junior, who stayed at Connection Rio while he trained for the 2011 ADCC, to UFC fighter Chris Cariaso, and UFC veteran Peter Sobotta. High level professionals use Connection Rio as the place to stay to get ready for major competitions.
At the other end of the scale, we’ve helped many white and blue belts experience the BJJ lifestyle in Rio de Janeiro. Blue belt Lewis Matthews from the UK came to Rio for 5 weeks and went home with a gold medal after competing in a local competition. Young Jordanian athlete Abdallah Nabas had his first BJJ competition experience as a purple belt here in Rio de Janeiro, learning much in the process.
Many people come to Rio just for the opportunity to meet and train with the biggest and best names from both the BJJ and MMA world. We’ve taken groups to train with De la Riva, BTT and Robson Gracie, to sample wrestling with Jose Aldo’s coach and an Olympian.
It really doesn’t matter where you’re from or what level you’re at, there is something waiting for you here in Rio de Janeiro. If it’s an easy vacation with a bit of BJJ thrown in for fun, you’ve got it. if you want to stay in a camp where you train 3x a day with dedicated athletes, then we’ve got that for you too. The Connection Rio house caters for all.
